Vegetables are delivered in boxes by the government to parliament to show the problems facing Cameron Highlands farmers

Over 100 containers of vegetable are being delivered to Malaysian Parliament in order to draw attention to the hardships of farmers living within Cameron Highlands. Cameron Highlands.

Ho Chi Yang and a farmer’s spokesperson also presented a note to the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Security Minister Chan Foong Hin as well as senator Hatta Ramli, calling on them to pay time to the challenges that farmers face.

Ho claimed that, even with the short-term occupation permit (TOL) that was provided by the Pahang administration from 2020 onwards farmers have to come on the hook for high expenses because of the excessive rent they have to pay for their property. Some also claim that the lease period in the form of “3+2” months is far too small, preventing farmers from investing the time and cash to improve their methods of agriculture.
