Unending rains could cause a poor production of onions in Faridpur

The impact of Cyclone Michuang has a negative impact on farmers living who live in Faridpur because they’re faced by muddy fields in the onion field after three days of constant rain. Farmers have reported that continuous rainfall throughout Saltha as well as Nagarkanda counties has accumulated lots of water on the fields of onions, which put 70% of the crop in danger.

An agriculturalist from Nagarkanda told me: “Three days of relentless rains caused severe destruction to onions. I’m currently putting seedlings in the dirt. There will be a significant loss on the onion that is rotting.”

Nagarkanda County Agriculture Director Tilak Kumar Ghosh stated that the constant rains damaged 350 hectares of ‘Murikata ‘ onion as well as 40 hectares of “Hali onion” fields. However, he is confident that it was feasible to grow onions on the 8000-hectares of the land of Nagarkanda in the coming year.
