U.S. cranberry exports reach $343.1 million by 2023. This is less than 2% lower than 2022.

The United States produces about two-thirds of the world’s total cranberries according to data from 2018-22 of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. The year 2023 saw it was estimated that the United States exported $343.1 million of Cranberries. In the adjustment for inflation, worth for U.S. cranberry exports was less than 2 percent from 2022, and $85.9 million less than highest in 2018.

Processing cranberry items, like cranberry juice or sauce, comprise around 95 percent of total value of U.S. cranberry exports. The processed cranberry items were mostly destined to Canada, Mexico, China as well as China, and the Netherlands. Exports of preserved or prepared cranberry of $267.6 million, comprised the majority of exports from cranberries worth. Exports of cranberry juice were estimated as $57.1 million. It is also worth noting that the United States also imports cranberries nearly all products and cranberries coming through Canada. In 2023 it was estimated that in 2023, the United States imported $194.5 million of cranberries. That’s an increase from the low inflation adjusted of $111.7 million in 2019. Even though processed cranberry goods can be imported all season, the trade in fresh cranberries is extremely seasonal, and the volume of imports increases in autumn in advance of the Christmas season.
