Capogreco Farms grows melons in Western Australia. The season runs from January to May in Hamel, 100km South of Perth, and June to December in Broome, 2,400km North of Perth.
“We are currently producing on 400 hectares,” said Dane Capogreco, Sales & Marketing Director at the company. “We grow cantaloupe rockmelon, honeydew melon, Galia melon, Orange Candy melon and mini seedless watermelon.”
“Due to our different growing locations, we can produce melons year round. This summer has been one of the most consistently high temperatures we have had in many years. We have had temperatures of 35-40 degrees almost all summer.”
“Demand has been good, we have the rights to Orange Candy melon in Australia and New Zealand, which helps keep the same consistent quality and taste in the same brand all year round.”
Capogreco Farms exports to Southeast Asia and the Middle East. They use various brands under the Capogreco banner.
