The exports of Vietnamese’s agricultural products to China receive a boost thanks to new protocol

The 19th of August was the day that on the 19th of August, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam as well as the General Department of Customs of China have signed three agreements during the General Secretary’s and President To Lam’s trip to China. The protocols allow for the trade of frozen coconuts, fresh coconuts durians, as well as crocodile goods for China. Chinese market. These protocols include inspections of plant quarantine and food safety in frozen durian and plant quarantine for fresh coconut; and also quarantine and health of farmed crocodiles imported by Vietnam into China.

Minister for Agriculture and Rural Development Le Minh Hoan has highlighted the importance of these agreements. He said, “We believe this will greatly boost exports of agricultural products especially the recently approved items that are being sold on the Chinese market and will aid in the development of Vietnam’s farming sector.” The Ministry is expected to collaborate together with General Administration of Customs of China in order to ensure a seamless export of these goods.

These agreements will increase cooperation on agriculture as well as trade ties that exist between Vietnam and China which will provide immediate export prospects and contributing to the future growth of Vietnam’s agriculture sector. The Ministry also intends to help stakeholders by hosting sessions and seminars on latest protocols and measures to ensure compliance as well as enhancing infrastructure and logistics in order to facilitate exports.

In the wake of the opening of the Chinese market, the exports of fresh coconuts are predicted to grow significantly, which will boost profits for the country and also ensuring the long-term sustainability of Vietnam’s coconut production.
