Daniel Badger, Managing Director of UK importer Vitafresh Produce, moved out for South Africa in May 2024 Since then, the team has been working on the back end in order to create Vitafresh Exports which is based in South Africa.
“We inaugurated Vitafresh Exports in November, it’s a subsidiary run by Vitafresh Produce in the UK,” said Daniel. “The most popular products we export from South Africa are butternut squash fruit, citrus, grapes and the berries. Also, we’ll add other products that come from all over the world into our product line: limes peppers, figs and apricots, melons, sweet potatoes and many more. South Africa will be our primary source and our principal destinations are the UK, Europe, Middle East, Asia, Russia and the USA.”
Daniel along with the team has been to various countries to meet with exporters and growers in order to expand the variety of products they are able to supply.
One of the countries that Daniel visited one of those was Egypt one of them, where Daniel went to during the first week of the month of December. “The visit was a fantastic occasion to meet a broad variety of farmers on their packhouses and farms. Making new friends as well as creating new ones as well. The source of citrus in Egypt can provide us with an all-year supply of citrus and Egypt continues to grow increasing its volume each year. It has rapidly become a significant supplier that we can rely on.”
Daniel is getting more simply fruit in Egypt: “We will be capable of accessing the following quantities of produce including 40 sweet potato containers 40 containers of sweet potatoes as well as 25 containers of yellow/red onions/red onions, 10 containers round tomatoes/cherry tomatillos, 10 containers lemons and 10 containers of icebergs five container of fresh onions. We’ll be able to ship these items as well as other products from our sources to our customers across the globe as we expand our base of customers.”
“We were able to learn a lot about the upcoming nation of Egypt regarding the quality and quantity of goods from there. We have established many import relationships to support Our South African business. We want to express our gratitude to all those who hosted us for their graciousness. We look at doing more business coming from Egypt.”
