Ramadan is a major reason for increased demand Kashmiri apple

In Ramadan during Ramadan, need for Kashmiri apples is soaring across India which has caused growers to offer their storage apples cold throughout the nation. “CA stored apples are in high demand at the moment. At present, Kashmiri apples are shipped to the top markets for fruits in India. There is a large amount of apples that are kept in cold chain storage facilities that are ready to be delivered to numerous markets across India,” stated Fayaz Ahmad Malik who is the President of the North Kashmir Fruit Growers and Dealers Association.

This is apparent in the major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata as well as Bengaluru in India, with prices of apples that range between Rs 1500 and 1600 for a box. Utilization of Controlled Atmosphere (CA) storage has proved beneficial for Kashmiri apple farmers, allowing farmers to profit from the seasonal demand in the off-season and to secure good yields.
