Morocco has seen a rapid increase in its exports of fruit and berries Some destinations have shown three-digit increases, EastFruit reports.
As an example, Moroccan exports of berries and fruits to Ireland have been low, however they began to increase in the year the year 2020. This led to the fact that in the years 2018-2022, revenues of the Moroccan exports of berries and fruits to Ireland rose 244 times, and reached nearly $3.5 millions in 2022.
Mandarins the most popular export from Morocco’s category of fruit, are responsible for greater than three quarters of exports to Ireland. Alongside mandarins, Ireland exports citrus from Morocco along with a range of other berry varieties from 2021 onwards.
This growth rate allowed Morocco to rise up the Irish list of exporters of berries and fruits from 47th place in 2018, to 20th in 2022. The top five suppliers represented by France, Spain Netherlands, Spain, the UK and France.
