The southern province of Binh Phuoc is intensifying its efforts in the development of agricultural codes of production in order to improve the value of their produce as well as meet the requirements for exports. The province is supporting communities, cooperatives, and businesses when it comes to the creation of these codes. The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development assists communities in helping farmers navigate how to register production codes.
In order to raise awareness of rules governing production codes The province is engaged in advocacy as well as has already coached 500 farmers on the importance of the production code. To ensure the proper application they are carrying out strict inspections in regions where codes were given.
The province plans to increase the durian cultivation area to between 8,000 and 10,000 acres, using high-tech techniques for farming and creating connections between production and the export of durian.
