The Vietnam Cashew Association (Vinacas) has advised companies to ensure that food quality is safe and of high-quality so that they do not run into unnecessary risk related to exports. Vinacas Chairperson Pham Van Cong has stated that exports had several challenges during the first quarter due to the effects of recession, economic inflation and conflict between countries. From to the third quarter of this year the market is growing, and the two main one in the world – the US as well as China expanding their imports, which has contributed to the expansion in the volume of exports as well as value.
From January to September, 456,000 tonnes of cashew nuts were traded internationally at 2.6 billion dollars. This is an increase of 19.6 percentage and 14.3 percentage year over year and 14.3%, respectively. According to the organization it is expected that the market for cashew nuts during the latter 3 months of calendar year will grow in all markets, with a focus on those in the US as well as the EU for the seasonal demand for Christmas and the holidays and drive growth of the exports of this product from Vietnam.
