Researchers from ICARand the ICAR National Research Centre for Banana (NRCB) have recommended farmers cultivate bananas using the varieties of banana that can withstand drought which they’ve developed.
“We suggest drought-tolerant varieties of banana which are created by the NRCB The Kaveri Saba Kaveri Kalki as well as Karpuravalli varieties are now considered to be standout choices for farmers. They have proven the ability to stand up to limits on water supply, making the perfect choice for areas that are facing severe water shortage issues,” said Dr R. Selvarajan, Director of NRCB.
