Driscoll’s is a producer of fresh berries based in California has announced that it will double its investment in China within the five years ahead, according to its chief executive. Miles Reiter, chairman and chief executive officer of Driscoll’s stated that he’s seen that the potential is enormous in the Chinese market that is growing quickly.
Reiter added: “We plan to sell 35,000 tons of berries this year. That’s an increase of 25 percent over last year. We anticipate a strong demand from China. I am confident that we will maintain a similar rate of growth over in the coming five years which will be followed by an extremely important coming future.”
To meet the local needs to local preferences, in 2013, Driscoll’s set up its first local plantation facility located in Honghe located in Yunnan province. This was also the first corporation of a multinational nature to undertake local agriculture operations in China.
