The port is experiencing delays. Cape Town have held back two vessels that were loaded with stonefruit, grapes pomefruit, and the final blueberries that are in season.
“Vessels were delayed longer than we anticipated,” says a grape exporter. But soon-to-be departures are anticipated within the next week, weather permitting.
The Santa Cruz and the MSC Palak and MSC Palak, both of which operate on the Europe Express Service, are packed with fruits and have been in South African ports for over two weeks.
The winds over Cape Peninsula Cape Peninsula have been very robust, which is typical at this time of season, when operations cease due to the need in safety.
