About 700 trucks, the majority consisting of durians have been unable to cross into China through Vietnam’s Lang Son Province. This has blocked the northern borders for more than one week, particularly in the Huu Nghi border gate. Authorities have attempted to calm the travelers that the border crossings within the province operate normal.
Vietnamese officials have suggested that officials from Vietnam have suggested that Chinese counterparts be given more time to boost traffic in Huu Nghi. They have also proposed that for the Tan Thanh border gate be authorized to supervise and oversee the durian trade. Premier Pham Minh Chinh called on the government to accelerate the passage of the trucks that transport produce towards China.
