“We remain in partnership with laava as well as their revolutionary smart Fingerpint(tm) technological innovation that allows consumers to scan their smartphones for the code that is unique to each package of Reid Fruits cherries to check that they’re genuine. In addition, by scanning the code, customers can find out more information on our Reid Fruits story and our high-quality Tasmanian cherries. The public can find out more information about ways to verify whether the genuineness of Reid Fruits cherries through our website or search for the information on Our authentic WeChat or LRB accounts.
“We will continue to cooperate in conjunction with Source Certain and their proprietary technology called TSW Trace(tm) which utilizes the most advanced chemical analysis techniques to verify forensically the product’s original source.
“Over the course of three seasons with this technology, Source Certain and the Source Certain team have established an extensive database that allows us to verify and trace our cherry’s source from our orchards to the individual ones we have. In the coming year, we are also going to continue more market verification as well as investigation into supply chain.”
While it’s still in mid-winter in Tasmania but it’s going to be spring, and Tony and his team are anticipating another great year of the cherry, which will start in December.
“A significant project in this time of off for Reid Fruits has been an upgrading of our packing facility that also includes the addition of a packing shed that will allow the construction of a brand new grader. This is a major growth in the capacity of our packing as well as the latest technology for sorting and grading. The second stage of the project is scheduled for 2025 and will see further packing capacity being added.”
