The Indonesian Directorate General of Horticulture has released at most 200 guidelines for the import of garlic which totals a volume of 1.1 million tonnes. “After it was announced that the Agriculture Ministry issued recommendations for import of horticultural goods, or RIPH importers are required to make the Import Approval (PI) requests in the Trade Ministry,” said Director General of Horticulture Prihasto Setyanto in a release issued on Sunday. Setyanto said that businesses need to apply for RIPH (garlic) on the internet through the national balance of commodities system, also known as SINAS NK.
