The imports of tomatoes of Turkmenistan to Kyrgyzstan rose by 23% over the first 10 months of 2024. This is according to the National Statistics Committee.
Between January and October Kyrgyzstan brought in 19,629.2 tonnes of tomatoes which is worth $12.81 million. From this figure, 15,204.8 tons were sourced from Turkmenistan worth $8.9 million. The same timeframe of 2023 Kyrgyzstan has imported 12,355.4 tons of Turkmenistan which was worth $7.6 million.
Other companies also helped to the imports of tomatoes from Kyrgyzstan in 2024.
- Uzbekistan has reduced its exports, by 6,102.1 tonnes valued at $2.85 million by 2023, to 3,594.8 tons. However, this value grew slightly, reaching $2.86 million.
- China has significantly increased exports. The country will have 722 tons worth $947,900 by 2024. This is in comparison to 170.9 tons in 2023.
- Iran increased its export volume by three times by supplying 73.5 tonnes in 2024, when compared with 24.2 tons in the previous year.
- Kazakhstan experienced a drastic drop in exports, averaging 34.1 tons by 2024. That’s less than 197.8 tonnes in 2023.
- Turkey has reported that it will not export tomatoes to Kyrgyzstan by 2024.
