Farmers who grow vegetables in Bangladesh are among those worst hit by the blockade that was lifted yesterday, because they could not achieve sufficient sales amid turmoil in the country’s politics. In addition, the price wholesale of vegetable products in the Ishwardi sub-district in Pabna decreased by around 50% in the course of the three-day blockade which was in place from October 31 to farmers reported. In this context, local farmers demanded the end of fighting in order that the supply chain could resume as the normal.

For the protest, farmers pour enormous quantities of vegetable on the highway Pabna-Rajshahi. It was the Bangladesh Krishak Unnayan Society, an organization of farmers, led the march, attended by many farmers from diverse locations. The farmers also put out an unison chain of people as element of the protest, that was coordinated by Siddikur Rahman Moyez, president of the association for farmers.
