As per the directives from the district administration traders from Munshiganj are selling potato in cold storage. In accordance with these guidelines the district administration, 56,000 potato sacks that weigh 50kg each will be taken out of storage over the next 3 days.

The sale of potatoes began in various cold storages across the district in the afternoon of Wednesday. The majority of cold storages sold potatoes at a wholesale rate of Tk30 per kilogram instead of the fixed government rate of Tk27. However, in the face protests from traders Munshiganj deputy commissioner Abu Zafar Ripon has directed the sale of potatoes with a maximum value of Tk37 on the markets for retail in Munshiganj.
