It’s the Spanish bell pepper season of imports began in VitaFresh Produce, the first red green and yellow bell peppers came in around the beginning of November.
“Our cultivators are located located in El Ejido, in Southern Spain We have seen bell peppers in the market since a couple of weeks and they are in good supply,” said Harvey Cleeton of VitaFresh. “All bell peppers grow inside poly tunnels so that any rainfall doesn’t impact the peppers. It was very hot period in summer, however the quality of what we’re getting is top-quality.”
VitaFresh imports bell peppers as well as other fresh fruits and vegetables for distribution to wholesalers and foodservice companies.
“The Dutch and UK bell pepper season has just finished therefore demand for the UK market is high. Prices took up to a week for them to catch up since the Dutch season concluded with lower costs. We bring in good amounts of peppers weekly which we distribute to our customers, so that wholesalers can purchase the less quantity of produce and gives them a steady supply with regards to prices and supplies.
“We are in a wonderful relationship with our growers, who are great and consistently provide us with top fresh, high-quality produce.”
