The tropical climate in Indonesia is the perfect environment to grow mangosteen that thrives in hot and humid climates, that can range from 25-35 degrees Celsius.
Stevan Budi Susanto is the person responsible for international sales for Pt. Citra Tama Jaya Indo. He discusses why Indonesian mangosteen is gaining ground on the market across East Asia now Thailand production is nearing its end: “Mangosteen farmers in Subang, Tasikmalaya, and Jember are at the peak of an excellent harvest. Despite the beginning of the season of rain in Indonesia however, the weather has been favourable, which has ensured the longevity of the mangosteen”.
Stevan adds: “The current quality of this harvest is admirable. It can be because of the relatively strong force of the rainfall. There is however some concern that, if this rainfall continues to increase, the sensitivity for the mangosteen to damage from the inside could be increased.”
With the robust market for exports Our company is continuing to play a significant role in the market, with China as the main location. Guangzhou and Shanghai are the main points of entry in the region, including Guangzhou taking care of container deliveries as well as Shanghai handling airfreight volumes.
Stevan: “Commencing exports to China starting in November and running to the next year We are dedicated to meeting the weekly quota of three containers, each with a 40rf value according to the requirements of our customers”.
One interesting development on the market is the shifting of Chinese buyers moving from Thailand and Thailand to Indonesia. In the wake of Thailand suffering a drop in mangosteen production Many buyers from China are reverting towards Indonesian producers for their mangosteen demands. This is a sign of the trustworthiness and high quality of Indonesia’s mangosteen crop to satisfy the requirements for China’s international market.
