This week, the International Food & Drink Event took place at London’s Excel, London. The event was an enormous gathering of everything related to food and drinks aimed at catering companies with stalls across the globe.

The year was marked by an entire section devoted to the sector of fresh fruits and vegetables. The event was organized in conjunction with The Fresh Produce Consortium with intention of highlighting the significance of this sector in the foodservice industry. The FPC Fresh Produce Hub was highly praised and provided businesses with a distinct way to interact with retail and buyers from a variety of industries, such as bars, wholesale, foodservice catering, and wholesale.

The IFE’s second day in 2024 was a showcase of premium food items and the industry’s expertise. Some notable firms that took part in the section on fresh food comprised BelOrta, Florette, Chiquita and Dole as well as others. They represented a diverse variety of industry sectors and brought their most innovative products and services up to date.

It was the Spitalfields New Tenant Society donated some fresh fruits and veggies for welcoming points. In addition, the team from EFCIS received recognition for their sponsorship of FPC Fresh Produce Lounge. FPC Fresh Produce Lounge giving guests the chance to sip a drink with a relaxing atmosphere.

We hope that over the next years the amount of firms exhibiting fresh produce is likely to increase.

“There was no occasion to showcase our business in the UK in the past few months,” said Nigel Jenney who is the Director of the Fresh Produce Consortium. “So far, feedback is very positive. We’re hoping to expand upon this over the next times. This is a chance both suppliers and growers to meet new clients.”

Alongside the firms at the FPC stand, there were also a handful of well-known companies that promoted fresh ingredients, the best quality as well as the fresh juice side of their operations. Also, there were packing companies and technology companies.
