This week was the first day of a fresh produce part of the International Food & Drink Event in London. The stands for fresh produce were arranged through Nigel Jenny and his team in the Fresh Produce consortium.
“The reason for this from the FPC perspective as well as for the wider sector of produce is to help promote the industry of fresh produce for the people who will be present this moment. It hasn’t been a single event to showcase our sector since a while and we’re keen to continue this process and our participants here are getting great reviews and we are hoping to continue building over the next. This has been a huge success thus far.”

The event had distinct visitor profiles from other fairs centered around fresh products, however, the show is not exclusively focused on fresh produce. people attending are also buyers of the fresh produce producers and their suppliers, including food service industry and the hotel trade smaller cafes as well as hotels that are trying to increase the value of the food items they are offered.
“This provides us with an opportunity to our farmers and our suppliers to discover a new marketplace by supplying direct to these clients. Independent and catering retailers account for 35% of the industry’s customers. It’s a huge sector that’s often neglected, however it is the lifeblood of our business that is often forgotten about occasionally. We are determined to make it more difficult and to show our customers the amazing opportunity we can offer them and take advantage of that chance. There are a variety of European firms here and are looking to market these companies, since our food supply relies on purchasing items from across the globe We have companies who solely deal in exotics, and lots of these are products that you’ll not find in UK shops.
