Do you think Ramadan impact the efficiency of the packing house?

The month of Ramadan determines the pace of daily life in Morocco and other Muslim nations, with a variety of changes to working hours.

Working days are generally shorter throughout the month. They are scheduled in accordance with the timing of breaking of fast. The Moroccan government has changed the time zone used by its official authorities between GMT+1 and GMT in order to meet people’s desire for time off prior to sunset.

What do Ramadan influence work at the packing house? Do you believe that the productivity decreases? Asmaa Baibane who is the director of exports at BL Agri, a packing company based in Agadir answers the often asked question by international clients.

“It’s real that the time of Ramadan can affect our work productivity,” says Baibane. “We alter our work schedules and improve jobs to increase efficiency and ensure that employees’ requirements are met.”

“Adapting to Ramadan is a significant amount of preparation ahead so that there is no significant increase of processing time during the month. We therefore adapt our supply chain and operations to new times as well as shorter working hours, offering flexibility to accommodate our workers, such as in respecting fast-breaking and prayer timings, all while maintaining the continuous operations, and observing deadlines and obligations to our clients.”

The exporter states, “The working day during Ramadan is characterized by high enthusiasm an unbeatable and celebratory energy, and strengthened bonds.”
