The advertising campaign for Tacle which is a hybrid of Clementines and Tarocco oranges, with seeds-free pulp, a thin skin and streaks of red that make this product visually attractive – is just beginning.
Tacle
“This is a fruit which is widely grown across the eastern part of Sicily and particularly in the area near Mount Etna as well as within the Catania Plain, an area that is specialized in the production of citrus,” states Carmelo Frisenna of Uniterra Sicilia Group or Arancia Loretta. “We expect to begin the first harvesting operation in just a few days, once we’ll have achieved an appropriate level of ripeness to be able to answer the inquiries that we get from Italian as well as foreign retail stores. Tacle is an extremely special product when compared with those on Sicilian and international market for citrus, and is distinguished by its unique organoleptic characteristics, beginning with an intense flavor. Particularly for young people located in central and northern Europe, Tacle is much valued for its lack of seeds or fruits which exceed the mass of between 100 and 200 grams. This makes it an ideal snack for breaks.”

“The manufacturing timeframe is approximately 70 days. This is another characteristic that makes it popular. But, with our production as well as that of our reliable suppliers there is a bit of a room for customers looking to combine the products of our suppliers. We also saw our Miyagawa tangerines do quite well. They had a decent sale this year, which has ended around a month. Our production comprises blood and blond oranges. They should be available by the end of December, or in early January. The commercialisation of the blond oranges have already begun for the past few weeks. Everything is dependent on the weather conditions and temperature, since the fruits require the correct temperatures to get the correct colouration.”

“A natural product such as that of ours is shaped by the natural world so when colour dimensions, appearance and size have a specific appearance and are consistent with that, it’s evidence of a food product that is not forced or altered to alter its appearance. The consumer, as well as the buyer should be taught to judge the quality of products is not determined by its quality or its perfection on the peel but rather on its taste, freshness, and security that is often included in Sicilian citrus fruit. What’s a safe and authentic product, possibly just a little smaller, and having flawed peel as compared to an orange which e.g. has been travelled for hundreds of thousands of nautical miles which comes with the additional burden of release of pollutants into the atmosphere that we have no idea? Which methods are used to produce them, and what are the pesticides used? What sort of work is used? What are the conditions?”

“We want to emphasize the fact that we manufacture and pay tax in Italy as well as located in Europe. Our manufacturing facilities are situated at just a short distance from the largest European markets for consumer goods. We adhere to the strictest Italian regulations governing the industry and have always been the most strict at an international scale. Our choice for European consumers is easy, and we are convinced.”
