The table grape harvest begins within Alicante, a Spanish region of Alicante but with less than anticipated due to issues with flowers. Despite this Uvasdoce Fresh’s company Uvasdoce Fresh expects to increase its output by about 30percent..
“We have finished a challenging, yet record-breaking season for imports, which saw an increase of 60% in the amount of kilos we handled as compared to 2023” states Miriam Cutillas, Sales and Marketing Director at Uvasdoce Fresh. “Our Table grapes in the US will begin on week 27, and will include our first varieties. The forecast is for it to be an exciting season with additional growth, increased automated production, new varieties, and several challenges on the farm and within the warehouse,”” she adds.
“This year’s conditions for weather have been tough, however we anticipate extraordinary outcomes. We’ve put a special focus on trimming bunches, changing the amount of load on each vine, thereby achieving homogenous bunches and the finest qualities of organoleptics,” she says.
“Our production capacity is growing by 30 percent, the introduction of the new heat protocol, and the increase in salaries and additional costs are just a few issues we are facing this season” claims Miriam Cutillas.
“Due to the potential for extreme temperatures that could occur during the season of harvest, as well as conforming to the latest Government rules, we’ve already put in place the new Heat Protocol, which is designed to safeguard the health and well-being of our employees. It will be difficult to fulfill every order on time is particularly demanding,” says the company’s management of sales and marketing.
“There was also an increase in costs for production which means there will be less wine grapes than we anticipated in the period of flowering. Despite this however, we expect the best of results in terms of high-end quality due to the tireless job of our fields and cultivation teams, both technical and,” she says.
