Mango is the primary cash crop grown in Chapainawabganj district. The north-western region of Bangladesh could earn quite a bit on the mango production, considering that mangoes are also lucrative in the local market in the present. Following the local demands, an enormous amount of various varieties of mangoes is being shipped to different parts of the world.
As per the districts Department of Agriculture Extension, there are 37,588 acres of mango orchards. Government has set the goal for 440,956 tons of mango for this season. The production of mango this year is higher than those of preceding seasons. The previous year, 325,000 tons of mango were harvested within the region.
