Brazilian animals are set to soon “roam the market’s in the U.S. It’s thanks to the brand newly designed brand by Brazilian Melon manufacturer Agricola Famosa, represented by Crown International USA LLC, Crown International USA LLC, their North American commercial arm.
Rodrigo Lima, president of Crown International based in the U.S., explains why the brand name of animals is crucial for the company: “Each melon variety showcases an exotic animal of the day like Tamarin the Golden Lion and Pink Dolphin and the Blue Macaw and others, which makes snacking an educational and enjoyable adventure. Through combining conservation consciousness with the taste of delicious, nutritious fruits, Famosa is not only helping to protect Brazil’s diversity, but encouraging a love of the natural world and healthy food choices among our children.”
However, Brazilian melons haven’t been delivered in U.S. consumers U.S. at the moment as there’s not enough locally available, Lima says they hope the brand’s new design that will launch later in the year will be a hit among moms and children. “We provide our customers in the U.S. market during the winter months for the U.S. market. Agricola Famosa starts the shipment around the middle of September, and continues until final week of February. We have every week a new shipment arriving in Philly. We offer five different varieties of melons and watermelon, Arara Melon, Yellow Canary Melon, Piel de Sapo Melon and which is the Mini Watermelon Seedless and the Large Watermelon Seedless. This season we’ll be conducting certain tests using our newly developed Hami Melons as well. We are planning to deliver into market in the U.S. market this season an amount of 500 containers over the course of five months, with every variety. In the same time frame, Agricola Famosa ships an average of 300 containers a each week. Europe as the biggest melons manufacturer in the world.”
The company hopes that the brand’s new look will prove well-liked by moms as well as their children. “We think this advertising can help increase sales. In the first place, we’ll separate our melons from conventional melons, which often are similar in appearance however, they have a vastly different taste and will create an increase in the number of customers who will be loyal to our exciting brands. We also believe that mothers are going to be delighted with having an item that is delicious and could create more enjoyment for their kids to try the product in a way that is fun which will then generate a brand fresh demand.”
The author says it’s not that simple in exporting melons out of Brazil into Brazil to the U.S. “There there are many restrictions that come from Brazil in order to export melons into America. US market. Like specific regions that are granted the permission of USDA for export melons to U.S. markets. U.S. has to undergo costly treatment. This discourages producers from exporting their melons into US markets. U.S. market, they prefer going to Europe as there are fewer restrictions. In the present, Agricola Famosa is the sole Brazilian business that is exporting melons to the US market” says Lima.
