BayWa is able to appoint a CFO and new CEO in the financial overhaul

The Supervisory Board of BayWa AG has named Dr. Frank Hiller as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) as well as Professor. Dr. Matthias J. Rapp as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) starting 1 March 2025. Both of them will be joining the Board of Management as part of a reorganization process that is ongoing.

Gregor Scheller, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Directors, said that BayWa undergoes a significant change to increase its financial stability, and to focus on its core business. Scheller stressed that the business is seeking to improve its structure of operations and to increase the long-term viability.

Scheller pointed out the fact that Scheller noted that Dr. Hiller brings experience in leading companies through difficult times and held numerous positions of leadership in various sectors. He also emphasized Professor. Dr. Rapp’s experience in the field of financial management as well as his expertise in managing companies through restructuring.

Dr. Hiller acknowledged the financial problems faced by BayWa and said BayWa must tackle the issues to restore its stability. Dr. Hiller stressed the significance of preserving BayWa’s status in the agricultural industry and to regain its place on the market.

Professor. Dr. Rapp expressed confidence in the ability of the business to rebound however, he noted that the change procedure will necessitate cooperation, transparency as well as a strategic financial plan.

The Dr. Frank Hiller previously served as the CEO for Big Dutchman, a supplier of housing and feeding systems. He also served as director for Deutz AG in Cologne for five years. He also held leadership posts for Leoni, MAN Truck & Bus, Meiler, and Thyssen-Krupp. He completed his mechanical engineering studies at the University of Kaiserslautern.

Professor. Professor. Matthias J. Rapp was the head of financial and managerial control in TUV SUD for the period from 2024. He began his career with Boston Consulting Group and later became CFO for numerous companies, among them Webasto. He was named as an honorary professor at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (LMU) in 2021. He was a business administrator during his time at WHU Koblenz.

The announcements come in the context of BayWa is looking to make fundamental changes that will improve its financial and efficiency in its operations.
