The constant high discharge of water of Chao Phraya Dam Chao Phraya Dam has resulted to widespread flooding in Ayutthaya. At present the dam continues to discharge water at the rate of 1,800 cubic meters per second, for the third consecutive day. The high volume of water release has substantially increased levels of water within the Chao Phraya River flowing through Ayutthaya which has resulted in an equally significant increase in the amount of water flowing through its tributaries.
Six provinces including Kalasin along with Ubon Ratchathani, are currently being hit by severe flooding. efforts to aid those affected are continuing. The weather today across Thailand is still rainy, and 38 provinces remain in the midst of a severe rain alert.
