Evidently, fake images of the shape of grapes in a star have been circulated on the internet for a long time. The internet has led some to think they’re a authentic fruit that comes originated from Japan. But, experts in viticulture said there’s nothing like stars-shaped grapes. AFP discovered a variety of videos that demonstrate how to make the images with software for editing.
The images were circulated on Facebook, in a post that stated they showcased “a brand new grape variety” that was launched in Japan. But, the photos were doctored.
The tweet, which was shared by a fan page with over 170,000 followers on the 27th of March shows images of grapes that have a star shape, as well as an image of an Japanese tweet which reads: “Star-shaped grape. What a cute idea.”
Images have been circulated on the internet until at the very least, September 2022, in postings in various languages, such as English, French and Japanese The images resurfaced on March 2023.
