Air New Zealand Cargo is active in facilitating the transportation of around 5,000,000 kilograms of cargo between the months of January and December, focusing on exports of New Zealand’s fresh products worldwide. Anne Dunne, General Manager, Cargo, Air New Zealand spoke about Air New Zealand’s contribution to connecting the Aotearoa market for fresh produce with international markets, especially in the holiday time. Its main focus is to deliver the highest quality New Zealand lamb and cherries as well as other products, around the globe.
The cherries, particularly, have seen a rise in popularity throughout Asia due to the Chinese New Year is nearing, a symbol of prosperity, luck, as well as family unit. Air New Zealand Cargo aims to ship up to one million kilograms of cherry in key markets, including Taipei, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Japan and will also ship additional quantities towards North America and, through collaboration with other airlines, to Vietnam.
