Vietnam’s exports of agricultural products into South Korea experienced a 55 percent increase during the first quarter of 2024. They reached the total amount of US$164 million. The reason for this is the increasing demand of South Korean consumers for Vietnamese agriculture-related goods.

In particular, pepper and coffee trades between Vietnam into South Korea showed remarkable increases in the amount of coffee, up 39%, to $75.6 million, and pepper up 147% up to $19.8 million. As per Dang Phuc Nguyen who is the director general of the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association, South Korea has emerged as the second largest consumer of Vietnamese vegetables and fruits, including mango dragon fruit, longan pineapple, banana and durian being the top exporters.
