“Our most recent machine designed to satisfy the requirements of our customers from the Netherlands is an electric harvester of leafy vegetables including parsley. The machine is which is powered by solar power,” claims Alberico Durso, the founder of Dari Ecomeccanica, a machine maker located in Eboli located located in south of the Italian Province of Salerno.
Vertical, an in-house invention from Dari Ecomeccanica, an Italian company with its headquarters in Eboli (Salerno). This machine was designed specifically for picking up leafy greens, and comes using an ad-hoc cutting and harvesting device to gather the produce in a neat and a bunched style.
“This machine is made for collecting leafy veggies with neat rows at a vertical angle which is why it’s called Vertical. The benefit lies in the ability to harvest vegetables in bulks, both for smaller leaf vegetables, such as baby leaves, and also for essences that have larger leaves like basil or parsley. In fact, it is ideal for picking in bundles of: arugula spinach, cilantro as well as basil, parsley as well as other essences of vegetables.”
Dari Ecomeccanica designs innovative horticultural mechanics that are requested by clients. Vertical is also available by an electric motor using a the standard power supply, or with renewable sources or an endothermic procedure when the client desires.
“The Machine cuts vegetables in a controlled and precise manner and produces the same results like manually harvesting. That’s why Vertical advances slowly to chop and move the veggies with precision. Growers also have an option to bundle vegetables in one go. In addition, Vertical can be equipped with a labeler, which will accelerate the process of labeling products. If you request it, the machine is also able to be fitted by solar panel.”
Its conveyors are used to transport products in a vertical direction and looks great.
It can be utilized in the greenhouse as well as outdoors. Additionally, when it’s the machine is powered by renewable energy sources, it’s charged by sunlight’s radiation while it is performing. This way, the working autonomy is increased in total energy equilibrium.
“Vertical can be described as an environmentally friendly and cost-effective option, as the machine produces double the amount of bundles when in comparison to manual harvesting. The operating costs are minimal as there isn’t any pollution and greater quality management of harvested products is assured,” concludes Durso.
